With the spring athletic season starting up many teams are at the beginning of their long seasons. So far Boys Golf is 3-1 on the season hoping to only improve from this point forward. Nothing but optimism surrounds the team morale as they hope to achieve their goals this year.

At the start of the season their was a great turnout for the tryouts with waves of talent at all grade levels. Coach Ryan Branning and Assistant Coach Tom Cox evaluated the players at Chester Washington Golf Course.

“ We had an amazing turnout for this season’s tryouts and it is clear that the boys golf program will thrive in the years to come,” said Branning.

After last years large senior class the team hopes to fill some major roles on the course and leadership responsibility for the incoming seniors on their final season. The future is bright for the boys golf team.

“ This season our hopes are still high even though we lost many seniors last year and I expect great things for our team in the upcoming future,” said Senior Cj Coleman Boys Varsity Golfer.

With an outstanding season of winning bay league last year the team hopes to reclaim there title amongst the south bay. The team hopes to improve and let last years success carry over into this years season.

“ Our goal is to defend our bay league title,” said Branning. “Also, to perform at a high level in the post-season.”

With supportive enthusiasm from teammates optimism engulfs the atmosphere at golf course. Good leadership from the captains helps provide a healthy and competitive edge into the mindset of the players.

“ We are striving to bring home a bay league title for Costa and help our players overall like our captains,” said Senior Matt Kim Boys Varsity Golfer.

The Boys Varsity Golf team hopes to improve their winning record against Beverly Hills at Rancho Park Golf Course on Thursday March, 26.

“ We have high hopes against Beverly after beating them at Chester Washington. If we play at high level we have a good chance of coming out on top,” said Junior Nick Harry Boys Varsity Golfer.
