Hockey defeats Manhattan Beach, 4-5, for the second week in a row

On April 17, at the Toyota Sports Center, Mira Costa’s hockey team faced off against Manhattan Beach for the second week in a row, continuing their winning streak, 4-5 with top performances by senior Kai Borich, freshman Ty Dillman, junior Ryan Ng and junior Wyatt Light.

During the first period, Manhattan scored once goal. In the beginning of the second, they scored again. Borich scored for Costa after, leaving the Mustangs down by one. Manhattan followed with another goal, however Ng and Borich scored shortly after. Manhattan scored at the end, however the Mustangs still won with a final score of 5-4.

“We did not get rattled when we were down a goal in the beginning,” senior Ryan Miller said. “We continued playing our game. Especially focusing on taking shots from everywhere and crashing the net.”

The next game is Friday April 24 against South Torrance at the Toyota Sports Center at 6:30. South Torrance’s current record is 1-3.
