Mira Costa’s girls softball team swept Inglewood 26-0 in an away game on Friday thanks to top performer junior batter Emily Eudy.

The Mustangs easily defeated the Sentinels, scoring a total of 20 points in the first three innings with excellent batting from Eudy, and freshman shortstop Morgan Ingham. They then scored another six points in the last two innings. With Inglewood unable to respond to Costa’s strong batting and swift runs from base to base, the Mustangs won 26-0.

“Even though it was an easy game, we’re all still super pumped about our win,” junior outfielder Erica Noll said. “We lost our last game, so winning this game was super important to us.”

The Mustangs next play Morningside in a home game on Tuesday. Their current Bay League record is 5-3, and their overall record is 11-12. According to Eudy, the next game should be a strong win as well.

“We know Morningside, and we’ve beaten them before,” Eudy said. “This week’s win gave us a lot of confidence in our abilities, but we still have to practice batting before our next game.”
