The Mira Costa Mustangs water polo team lost an 8-5 home match against Palos Verdes on Oct. 21.

The Mustangs played with a deficit the whole game and were unable to make a comeback to win. Mira Costa’s weakness was their defense as Palos Verdes seized the moments when the defense faltered.

Senior Joe Siltanen scored three goals and senior Dana Tuttle made eight saves in goal to keep the Mustangs in the game.

With an overall record of 13-6 and a Bay League record of 4-1, the water polo team will play Oct. 25 in a five-day North Orange County Tournament.

The Mustangs have already won one of the two tournaments they competed in this year and they look to go for second win in this next tournament.
