Mustang’s finish season strong with Redondo as Manasse achieves stunning record

The Mira Costa girls’ tennis team finished their regular season on Nov. 1 with a win. The team improved their record to a 13-6 overall and 5-3 in Bay League with this home defeat of Bay League rival Redondo High School.

Sophomore Maegan Manasse accomplished the unthinkable in the Mustang’s 15-3 win over Redondo. She won all three of her matches, scores of 6-4, 6-0, and 6-0, and finished her season with a personal record of 54-0. The young sophomore led the Mustang’s throughout the season and hopes to take them on a CIF title run.

Senior Laura Derian and sophomore Hanna McGuire won all three of their matches by scores of 6-2, 6-1, and 6-0. Junior Erin Murphy and her partner and sophomore Ava Klein added two match wins to the girl’s total.

The Mustangs will compete in the Bay League Singles Competition that starts Nov. 3 on a court that has yet to be determined.
