Mira Costa’s girls tennis defeated Redondo High School, 15-3, in an away game on Wednesday, with a top performance by senior Lena Nagy.

Leading player Nagy won all three of her sets 6-4, 6-1, and 6-0. According to Nagy, she had strong rallies and many great hits that helped her win all three of her matches.

“I felt that I played really well today,” Nagy said. “I was hitting the ball really well and played very solid all around.”

Costa, now 9-3 overall, will take on Peninsula High School on Thursday at home. According to Nagy, the game today was a good warm up as their next matchup will be very tough.

“Today’s win was a very good warm up game,” Nagy said.  “However this week we will need to practice hard as we face a tough Peninsula team next Thursday.”
