Boys soccer starts season in a 0-0 draw

In the first game of the season, the boys soccer teams of Mira Costa and South East tied 0-0.

Both teams fired multiple shots on goal and the outcome depended on the final minutes. The Mustangs had multiple chances late in the game, yet were unable to score.

The first half was mostly dominated by Costa who took many shots and had more ball possession. However, that was not the case in the second half. The Jaguars played much better and seemed to play with more energy than the Mustangs.

With the injury to senior Augie Diaz late in the first half, the Mustangs could have been lacking the strength that they had in the middle of the field during the first half. This explains the ball control difficulties in the second half.

The boys host Long Beach Poly on Dec. 3. They will look for their first victory of the season in the next game.
