Costa’s Boys Basketball team defeated the Peninsula Panthers 56-48 in an away game on Jan 26. The Mustangs topped the rival Panthers in their 5th Bay League game, stealing a hard fought win on the road.

The Mustangs who lost their first contest against the Panthers were determined to even the score. The game was close early with the lead hopping back and forth between each team. Costa began to pull away in the second quarter, never letting their momentum down and leaving the Panthers in the dust by winning the game 56-48.

“Besides our shooting we were constantly getting open looks off pick and rolls for Tommy Waller and everyone else,” junior Parker Lynch

The Mustangs, now 10-12 overall and 3-3 in Bay League will play a home game against the Palos Verdes Sea Kings on Jan 30th. Costa is looking for their second win against the Sea Kings to improve to 11-12 overall and 4-3 in Bay League.

“We started to move the ball well and made threes helping us take the lead,” sophomore Max McCalla said.
