Mira Costa’s girls’ basketball team visited the Narbonne Gauchos on Jan. 15 and lost by a score of 70-42.
The Gauchos are ranked 25th in the nation, and this caused the Mustangs to turn to their senior leadership in the effort to win the game. Seniors Kylie Nakamine and Joelle Herron contributed a combined 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
The Mustangs, with an overall record of 10-8, host the 5-10 Leuzinger Olympians on Jan. 18 with hopes to improve their 1-1 Bay League record.
