Mira Costa battled against Harvard Westlake on Thursday September 9, with a final score of 11-7. Starting off strong, the Mustangs continue their winning streak. According to senior Ella Lokier, the Mustangs are feeling confident within their team and trusting one another.

“I think the team is starting to get in a groove,” said senior Ella Lokier. “From our first game we were timid but now we are confident and ready to fight. Especially for doubles we have started getting used to playing with our new partners and finding a balance between each other. After every practice we feel a little more confident for our matches to come.”

Number-one doubles team of this match was senior Sydney Vo and sophomore Maily Huynh, going undefeated throughout this match.

“I think our team had less nerves, since we had already played a match,” Vo said. “I think the new players or just all of us were more calm and knew what to expect. And of course we were able to practice more and double partners were able to practice more with their partners.”
