Costa boys water polo dominated against Redondo on Tuesday, ending with a final score of 13-4. The team managed to keep a lead throughout the game, winning by nine points.

This was the Mustangs’ first time playing Redondo this season, so they walked into the game not knowing what to expect, according to senior center defender Victor Katz. “Overall the team did pretty well,” Katz said.

“We played solid defense, taking care of their best players, and we were producing on offense. At the end of the day, we took care of business and came home with the win.”

According to senior utility Cole Christensen, the team played well together against Redondo. Although it was the Mustangs’ first face-off against the Seahawks, they ultimately came out on top.

“Our team had good communication throughout the entire game,” Christensen said. “This was our first time playing them, so we managed to figure out their tactics fast, and we were able to have strong defense and offense.”

The Mustangs now have a record of 5-0 in Bay League. The team only has a few more matches left of the season, so it is going to continue to work hard in its practices to prepare, according to senior goalie Jake Linnell.

“We have worked hard on our defense and offense throughout the entire season, and it is showing with the 5-0 score in Bay League so far,” senior goalie Bernardo Herzer said. “We are going to finish this season strong and hopefully have a good outcome in CIF.”
