Costa girls lacrosse narrowly lost to Crescenta Valley High School, 11-10, on Mar. 9. The team started off strong with a 4-0 lead, but ultimately fell short.

“We maintained [our] lead throughout most of the game but, towards the end, we brought in several fouls and yellow cards, which eventually gave Crescenta Valley the lead,” senior captain and midfielder Sydney Thatch said. “We can improve in the future by trusting each other the entire game and limiting our fouls.”

This was the team’s first loss of the season; its record of 7-1. Its next game is a home game against Culver City High School on Mar. 16.

“I think we could have come out a little bit stronger; we weren’t as prepared as we thought,” freshman midfielder Kate Donnelley said. “We got a little frazzled in the game, but it’s ok; we’ll move on, and we are really excited to come back strong.”
