On May 7, the boys lacrosse team hosted Westlake in its first round of CIF play. Costa moves on to the
Los Angeles County championship after a 15-3 win over Westlake. This win brings Costa’s record
to 18-4 overall.
In the game, junior Austin Hafdell scored the first two goals early in the first period, starting Costa’s offense strong. Hafdell totaled five goals in the game.
Costa will next play against Palos Verdes in the second round of CIF on May 10. If the Mustangs win, Costa will
move on to the CIF championships against the Orange County champions.
