Girls basketball opens season with a loss after coaching confusion

After the long offseason with two coaches suddenly leaving, the Mira Costa girls basketball team opened up the season at home against South Torrance on Nov. 23 with an unfortunate loss.

The Mustangs had a one point lead going into the fourth quarter but caem up short in a 50-47 loss. Junior Ashley Reese led Costa with 12 points.

The girls’ upcoming games will be against Jordan in the Inglewood tournament at home on Nov. 30 and against North Torrance away on Dec. 3.
