On Dec. 23, the Mira Costa boys basketball team defeated Canadian team Cochrane with a final score of 69-62 in the Palm Springs Tournament before Christmas. Costa placed fifth with a tournament record of 3-1. The Mustangs’ overall record going into the new year is now 11-3.
Sophomore Justin Strings led the Mustangs with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Enzo Kajiya followed with 10 points and four assists while senior Max Watson added nine points and five assists.
Costa will travel to El Segundo on Jan. 4 for its first game of the new year.
