The Mira Costa girls JV tennis team played against Long Beach Poly on Thursday Sept. 6 at home.
Sophomores Ellen Speicher and Ysabella Cuevas won their sets 6-0 and 6-1. Junior Maddie Coate won her set 6-1.
For the doubles teams Junior Abby Zimmerman and Sophomore Dana Sternthal won their set 6-0. Sophomores Amanda Han and Hanna Watkins won their set 6-4, and sophomores Rachel Waxman and Christine Djokovic won their set 6-4.
“I think we all played we really well and this is a great start to our season,” sophomore Ysabella Cuevas said.
Their next game will be played against Newport Harbor High school on Tuesday September 11 at Newport.
