The Mira Costa boys’ golf team was defeated by the Palos Verdes Sea Kings Thursday at Palos Verdes Golf Course, 145-147. Despite a score of 39 on the front nine by Junior Nick Harry, the Mustangs weren’t able to come out victorious.

Harry had a rough start on holes one and two but was able to find his rhythm by, pairing his next three and finished off the round with a birdie. Harry’s short game kept the match within reach but the Sea Kings were able to clinch the victory by sinking a birdie putt on the last hole.

“Losing against Palos Verdes is definitely not a good feeling but every match is a learning experience and now we know what it takes to beat them and hopefully we get another chance against them in CIF,” said Harry.

With a loss yesterday, the Mustangs’ record is now 9-2 overall on the season suffering their first Bay League lost. The Mustangs remain second in Bay League with a record of 4-1.

“It’s never a good feeling losing a league game to the number one seed but in order to be successful for the remainder of the season we have to put this behind us and keep moving forward,”said Coach Ryan Branning.
