A lineup of bands and musicians will perform at the Lighthouse in Hermosa Beach on Saturday, May 16th for the first annual Costa Palooza concert.

Costa Palooza performers will include Chloé Caroline, Latch Key Kid, Connor Caine and Friends, Kira Lingman, and Lose Control. All of the featured musicians graduated from Mira Costa High School. According to Dale, Costa Palooza celebrates this musical history and diversity of musical talent.

“When we searched for performers, we were blown away by the number of talented Costa graduates out there making music,” Costa Alumni Association President Chris Warshaw said. “The musicians we have for this concert is amazingly diverse in style.”

This concert benefits the Mira Costa Alumni Association’s mentoring and scholarship programs as well as Tiles for Teachers, a project created to honor retired Costa teachers, coaches, counselors, and administrators by incorporating tiles with their names into the Quad.

“It’s exciting that the Alumni Association put this together on behalf of Costa,” principal Ben Dale said. “It’s a great way to reconnect with the Alumni and bring attention to the school in a positive way.”

Chloé Caroline, class of 2012, will be performing songs off “One Left Standing”, her recently released extended play that debuted at #84 on the country charts.

“All of us who went to Costa grew up with so many great bands,” Warshaw said. “We really wanted to bring that spirit of high school friends getting together and trying to make music to our fundraiser.”

Gavin Heaney, class of 1995, will perform with his punk band, Latch Key Kid. Another band, Lose Control, which includes 2005 Costa graduates Jeff Nisen, A.J. Barthelomew, and Mitch Davis, is a heavy hard rock band. They will be performing from album album, “Let It Be Known”.

“I love that every show is different,” performer Kira Lingman said. “Whether it be within the crowd’s response or the performance itself, no performance is the same.”

Doors will open at 6:00 and the music will start at 6:30. A donation of $20 is suggested. All of the proceeds will benefit the Mira Costa Alumni Association.

“I love to perform,” performer Connor Caine said. “It will be a fun show!”
