The Mira Costa Varsity Cross Country team traveled to Columbia Park in Torrance to compete in the 2.8 mile South Bay Cup race on Sept. 29.
The boys team finished second overall. Junior Adam Perez finished second in the varsity race with a time of 15:06.
The girls won the race easily, even though they used the meet as a workout. Senior Savannah Pio finished third overall, with a time of 17:44.
Cross country races again on Oct. 14 when it hosts the Bay League for the second cluster meet at Polliwog Park.
