“I was very happy because it was the second time we broke 200 and we all maintained our coolness and kept focus,” captain and junior Shani Waite said. “Our team will continue to do great things and I am excited for the rest of this season. We have great players and we work well together.”

Costa girls varsity dominates with another win with their bay league match on Oct. 2. Junior Gabi Kiger and sophomore Juliae Shoda helped the team advance with an 202-206 victory by Kigler scoring 38 and Shoda 39.

“Gabby and Juliae played really well,” Nagy said. “They made every stroke count which got us the win. It was really close and it came down to a couple of shots.”

The Mustangs continued their winning streak in Bay League on Oct. 4 by beating West Torrance with a 191-217 win.

“We played extremely well and we are in a great position to compete for the Bay League Championship title,” Waite said.

Mira Costa’s girls varsity team is set to advance in Bay League with an upcoming match on Oct. 9 against Peninsula at Chester Washington golf course and Oct. 11 against Peninsula again at Rolling Hills Country Club.

“Our next match is next Tuesday and Thursday. I believe in us and we are going to do great,” Waite said.
