The Mira Costa’s girls varsity water polo team won their first CIF game on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at home against Rancho Cucamunga. The girls won by a score of 16-3.
Junior Jordan Raney scored 5 goals and senior Emily Milstead scored 4 goals in Costa’s CIF win.
“We played well for our opening game,” coach Reichart said. “We played hard all the way through the fourth quarter, and our defense was strong.
The girls advanced to the quarterfinals on Saturday, Feb. 16 to play against Arroyo Grande High School at home.
