Mira Costa’s girls tennis team defeated Dos Pueblos High School 14-4 in an away match on Saturday at Dos Pueblos in Goleta, with a top performance from senior Lena Nagy.
Naggy led the team to victory winning her singles match 6-2. She was backed up by senior Amy Gaal who won her singles match 6-4. According to Nagy, she played very well and was very pleased with her performance.
“I was very happy with my performance today,” Nagy said. “My ground strokes were very solid and my serves were really fast which helped me get the victory today.”
Costa, now 13-4 in Bay league, will take on Inglewood High School on Tuesday at home. According to Nagy, the team needs to have a strong week of practice this week in preparation for the team’s upcoming final few games.
“We played very well his weekend,” Nagy said. “We need to have a solid week of practice this week so that we can keep our momentum going heading into our final few games.”
